Hime, it's Nel. I'm just checking to see how you've been adjusting to Luceti. Did the experiment cause you any problems?

[Public]

This might be kind of an odd question, but if anyone cares to answer I'd like to hear it.

Back where you come from, who was the highest authority? Did you trust them? Or were you against them? Or maybe something in between?

Oh... so there was no one in charge?

Wait, what curse?

[Voice]

[identity profile] vulcanblazer.livejournal.com 2011-04-17 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. Veldime's pretty out of the way. Individual towns usually took care of themselves.

The curse turned humans into demons while sapping their memories and consciences.

Ah, That sounds a lot like Luceti.

... I didn't even know that was possible. Why would he do something like that?

[Voice]

[identity profile] vulcanblazer.livejournal.com 2011-04-17 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
To make himself more powerful. He used what he sapped to increase his own strength.

The loss of consciences and memories made him stronger?

That's... a little like Hollows back home, really.

I'm not sure how it worked. He somehow converted it all into Mana power, I think. Or something like it. I dunno, I don't know magic.

Hollows? I've heard a little about them, actually.

You have? Did you know Ichigo?

[Voice]

[identity profile] vulcanblazer.livejournal.com 2011-04-18 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
I met him a couple of times. I heard a little more about it from Rangiku, though.

Ah. She and I had... a truce going on, while we were here. We were on opposite sides, but neither of us really wanted to fight here.

... I was growing to like her, actually.

[Voice]

[identity profile] vulcanblazer.livejournal.com 2011-04-18 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
A truce? [Adell sounds confused and he blinks.] Wait, you two were on opposite sides?

[He doesn't sound accusatory, just... curious. He's not jumping to conclusions or anything, thankfully.]

[Voice]

[identity profile] former-third.livejournal.com 2011-04-18 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
That's right. She's a Shinigami, and I'm an Arrancar. That should have made us enemies, but... Ichigo was one of my best friends. And besides, keeping up the fight here did no one any good.

[identity profile] vulcanblazer.livejournal.com 2011-04-18 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
Arrancar... hm. I can only guess that it's a type of spirit Shinigami typically fight, right? But... from what it sounded like when Rangiku explained things to me is that what they fight usually are beings that cause a lot of damage and harm.

...But there's always exceptions. ...There are plenty of good demons where I'm from, after all.

The ones the Shinigami usually fight are Hollows. They're driven by instinct and very dangerous. Even the stronger, more intelligent ones can have trouble reasoning.

Arrancar are different. We can think just fine. But the Shinigami don't quite see it that way.

It seems strange that they would do that. Why wouldn't they try to understand you, anyway? [He pauses and thinks back to the question he posed to start with.] Does it have something to do with their leadership?

[Voice]

More ours than theirs. Our leader, Lord Aizen, is a Shinigami who defected from Soul Society. They view him as a traitor and are determined to stop his plans.

This... sounds confusing.

It's a long story and I don't know all of it.
