Hime, it's Nel. I'm just checking to see how you've been adjusting to Luceti. Did the experiment cause you any problems?

This might be kind of an odd question, but if anyone cares to answer I'd like to hear it.

Back where you come from, who was the highest authority? Did you trust them? Or were you against them? Or maybe something in between?

The country was divided. One part liked his leadership and the other was against him.

That sounds somewhat similar to my situation back home. Though the side for the ruler was most definitely winning, enough for the leader to be able to begin another war against... I suppose you could call it something like a rival country.

I see. Nothing like that really happened in the country I came from, but the group that opposed the ruler was mainly his own army and comrades. ...They did not believe he was human enough.

I suppose you could call it instinct versus reason.

Instinct? Like the need to survive you mean?

Among others. Instinct would be any natural, immediate response, everything from hunger to fight or flight.

So your ruler did not provide for you, causing 'instinct' to overcome the 'reason'.

Actually, it's the other way around. My ruler is the one who introduced "reason" to a world that had only known "instinct". However, not everyone was ready to accept it. Being able to reason means facing your actions, and the consequences of them. Some of us... weren't prepared for that.

I see. To change the way someone has lived their entire life, so suddenly and without much caution. It is clear why there was a revolt of some sort. Sad, but no one can ever truly be in equal agreement over something. What happened then?

Those who rebelled were no match for the ones who joined with him. Soon enough, any who openly resisted his rule were crushed. The only threats to him were those outside, and those who had hidden their true intentions and pretended to ally with him.

I see. It happens a lot. Rebellions are rarely ever so effective. When they are it's usually a great one, but when they fail it's almost heartbreaking. [...] It was the opposite with the rule of my land. There was a rebellion against the ruler and the rebellion ended in a standstill. Many of it's members died, but the ruler was defeated in the end.
