http://bleach.wikia.com/wiki/Nelliel_Tu_Odelschwanck□ Personality: “Martial Pacifist” is a description that seems oxymoronic. However, it fits Nelliel perfectly. She repeatedly declares that she dislikes unnecessary fighting, her quote on the matter being approximately “those who possess reason should have a reason to fight”. That said, if she thinks she has a good reason to fight, she’s incredibly dangerous, having been the third strongest of the elite fighting force, the Espada, in her time, and tends to only hold back just enough to not kill an opponent. Of course, that’s more than most of her fellow Espada would give, but Nelliel is a bit special as far as her kind goes.
She’s shown to very much value the reason and intellect granted her by the transformation from a Hollow, which is basically an instinct driven, rampaging ghost, to an Arrancar, a more well-evolved form. It’s the main reason she holds to her determination to only fight if she has to, since regular Hollows tend to do almost nothing else, especially in the Hollow dimension of Hueco Mundo. Combat to protect oneself or others, or on the orders of a respected superior, is one thing. Instinctive drives for combat like hatred or competition, however, should be repressed, something she repeatedly states when trying to deal with the lower ranked Espada, Nnoitra Juuga.
Outside of her role as a warrior, Nelliel is primarily a kind, protective figure, warm and loving with her Fraccion (servants) Dondochakka and Pesche, and very chipper and happy with main characters Ichigo and Orihime for the few moments they have together where they aren’t being threatened. There are some childlike aspects to her, like her energeticness and sometimes downright silliness (she embraced Ichigo so tightly she practically squeezed the air out of him), but at the same time her protective, caring nature can sometimes remind one of a mother, particularly one whose children have been put in danger. This is best shown when she’s with Dondochakka and Pesche, particularly when she sees them hurt… though that doesn’t end well for her.
This concern for her underlings is part of what eventually leads to her downfall, but it’s not all of it. Mostly it’s an underestimation, not of ability, but of how far some people will go. She has a would-be rival in Nnoitra, who she regularly puts down and lectures about being a lesser warrior and a “beast”, as well as for the fact that he’s weaker than her, which incenses him since he’s rather misogynistic. She’s not being deliberately cruel when she does it, just honest, but he hardly cares. When it’s finally made clear to him that he can’t possibly beat her fairly, he enlists the help of a mad scientist to cause major harm to her Fraccion, leaving her open when she finds them and is distracted by her concern for them. He splits her skull and much of her power is lost, causing her to de-age into a helpless child.
And this is sort of the elephant in the room when talking about Nel, because she spends almost all of her time in the manga in that child form. That’s where she forms her bond with Ichigo, where she is carried in through almost all of the action she sees, and it’s in this form that we learn the most about her… but this form isn’t the real Nelliel, and while it does have her basic personality, she lacks almost all of her intellect and knowledge while in it. Also there are facets of her personality that are shown in her child form that her adult one never has the chance to show off, including the very strange claim that she’s a masochist. (Yes, the child form says this. That’s what makes it strange.) This leaves some question as to how accurate her child form is to her true form’s personality, but it’s probably fair to assume that most of her traits while like this (being playful, affectionate, and oddly protective at times, like when she intercepts a Cero meant for Ichigo during his battle with another ex-Espada) are just immature ones of what she displays in her true, adult form. The one exception to that statement is that her child form cries for help and protection most of the time and her adult form is a protector, but this is quite obviously just because of the massive difference in power and battle knowledge, not to mention intellect.
If there’s one thing Nelliel places value on over reason and rationality, it’s her friends. She out and out tells Nnoitra when she regains her power and true form to protect Ichigo from him (another demonstration of how important her friends are to her) that she doesn’t consider revenge a worthwhile cause, but he hurt people she cares for, and she can’t let that slide.
Nelliel is, in the end, a soldier with a big heart. She values law and order just slightly less than friendship and love, and she’ll fight to the end to protect either. But her blind spots come in not understanding how little other people might value what she deems important, and in keeping her heart perhaps a little more open than a warrior’s should really be, especially in a world like she lives in.
□ Age: Impossible to determine, but definitely well over 21.
□ Gender: Female
□ Appearance: A somewhat tall woman with long blue-green hair, a goat skull helm with a huge crack in it, and a soft face. She has a red line across her nose and a scar at the top of her head. Her body is muscular, but lean, except for her impressive bust and hips. She prefers to wear a white suit which covers her entire body from the neck down, but upon returning from her child form to her adult one she only had on the robe which she’d been wearing. This was, naturally, far too small, and it had to rip in half just to keep her barely decent. It also exposes the enormous 3 tattoo on her back, designating her as the former third strongest Espada.
In her Resureccion form she appears mostly the same from the waist up, with some minor adjustments to her mask-helm, most notably some much larger horns. Below the waist, though, she’s an ibex. It’s fair to basically call her a centaur in this form, with some features remniscent of a medieval jouster, especially the fact that she carries a lance.
□ Abilities/Powers:
Master Swordswoman and hand to hand combatant: Extremely skilled in combat, even without her powers.
Ability to sense spirit pressure: Will know when basically any person with a decent level of strength from her own canon is nearby.
Hierro: Highly durable and difficult to pierce skin.
Sonido: Ability to move at speeds faster than the eye can track.
Cero: Powerful energy blast. Hers are fired from the mouth.
Cero absorption: Can intercept and absorb other Hollow/Arrancar Ceros with her mouth, essentially eating them.
Cero Double: Combination of the above two, uniting her own Cero with that of the attacker and quite literally spitting it back out at them.
Healing Saliva: Capable of healing critical injuries enough to prevent death even when lacking almost all of her power by vomiting up a large amount of spit. Likely much stronger in her true form, probably not requiring the vomit part, but unfortunately we don’t see her using it in that form.
Superhuman Strength: Enough to accidentally almost cause a battle-weary Ichigo serious injury.
Resurrecion: Unleashes her full power to transform into an ibex-like centaur. Her sword turns into a lance and she gains the ability to use her ultimate attack.
Lanzorda Verde: Hurls her Lance at an enemy with incredible destructive power, drilling its way through anything it hits. Easily her most devastating attack.
□ Personal Items: Torn in half brown robe
Sword (technically a piece of her soul sealed into a sword shape)

[She could not feel more relief upon finally getting to her temporary new home, but she knows she can't just stay here. Standing in front of her bathroom mirror, she takes a breath and hopes this thing works the way she thinks it does.]
Greetings. My name is Nelliel tu Odelschwank. I realize that's rather a mouthful, so please feel free to use Nelliel.
First things first, if you know me already please contact me at your earliest convenience. I'd like to know who's here that I can count on.
For everyone else, I have just a couple questions... First, where is an easy place to get new clothing? I'm afraid the only thing I came with isn't really fit for wearing anymore.
Also, if anyone has any suggestions of how to get started... integrating, for someone who doesn't have much experience, that would probably be useful. I'm told it's mostly instinctual, and if that's the case I shouldn't have too many problems, but it's not something that's ever come up before.
[That was arguably more information than she should give up, for safety's sake, but she's out of her depth and she needs some sort of direction, at least. Powers or not, she's far from helpless, so she should be able to handle anyone who thinks they can take advantage of her.]
And this is rather vague, but I'll ask it anyway... what's it like, living in a human city? I've never been to one before.
□ Third Person Sample:
It had been significantly difficult for Nelliel to figure out how to respond to her current situation. For one thing, she'd never been in a human city before.
... Okay that wasn't technically true, but the one time had basically been her falling into Ichigo's arms in her child form and clinging to him. She'd hardly had any time to look around, and even if she had, she wouldn't exactly have been in the mood for sightseeing.
Second, on that note, was the fact that she had her real form and intellect back, but not, as she'd discovered, her powers. She wasn't really sure how to feel about that second part, though she was quite pleased with the first. On the one hand she'd never really enjoyed fighting, or at least hadn't enjoyed the end result of it (the actual exercise of combat could be quite enjoyable, if the malice that was usually in it was removed... which it usually wasn't), but on the other hand she was a bit worried about not being able to defend herself against anything more than a normal human.
Lastly, there was the fact that she was still dressed in the robe her child-self wore. Which was sized for that same compact version.
She hadn't had much thought to spare for it last time due to pressing circumstances, but right now, it was entirely too apparent to her that she was near-naked and vulnerable, and while she didn't fully understand everything that was around her, she really, really didn't like feeling that way.
Especially when she knew she was going to stand out. And especially when the purpose of the city had been made clear to her. It wasn't something she objected to exactly, but she definitely wanted it to be on her own terms.
She tried to keep to the shadows and avoid people as she made her way to the apartment she'd been told was hers, but she didn't know the city very well and stealth wasn't exactly her forte. Despite her best efforts at looking like she knew where she was going, it was doubtful anyone watching her was going to be fooled.
Her skin crawled. She really hoped she'd be able to muddle her way there soon. It wasn't like she could count on someone stopping to help her.
